The Best UAE Credit Cards for Hotel Stays (Marriott Bonvoy, IHG, Hyatt, Accor ALL)
Hotel chains abound in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. With Marriott Bonvoy, the member can spend a year sleeping in a different property every weekend without ever leaving the country. As an Accor ALL member, each major Emirate has a Sofitel, Pullman or Movenpick hotel within a 20-minute drive. For UAE residents travelling locally for staycations or abroad for work, hotel rewards are often the most valuable currency a credit card can earn, sometimes worth two to three times more per AED spent than airline miles.
Here's the 2026 UAE credit card rankings for hotel stays, by chain and by use case.
How Hotel Rewards Compare to Miles in the UAE
A simple frame is helpful. An Emirates Skywards mile is worth about 4 to 6 fils when redeemed well. A Marriott Bonvoy point is roughly 3 to 4 fils, but earn rates are generally higher (5x to 10x on co-brand cards vs 1x to 2.5x on miles cards), and the redemption experience is more flexible, no award seat scarcity, no fuel surcharges, no peak/off-peak surge.
For a family in the UAE doing two staycations a quarter, hotel points often beat miles on absolute return.
Tier 1: Co-Brand Hotel Cards in the UAE
Marriott Bonvoy Credit Card from Emirates NBD
The no.1 co-brand product in the market of the UAE. Earns elevated Marriott Bonvoy points per AED spent at Marriott properties (typically 6 points per AED) and a decent base earn (typically 2 points per AED) elsewhere. Annual free night certificate which, when redeemed at a Category 4 to 5 property in the UAE or abroad, often covers the full annual fee. Typically, you'll get Marriott Silver Elite status just by having the card, and you can earn Gold by meeting spend thresholds.
If you are a UAE resident and already find yourself gravitating towards Marriott properties (Le Meridien, Westin, Sheraton, Ritz-Carlton, JW Marriott, Aloft, Element, Renaissance, St. Regis, W), this is the card to anchor on.
Hilton, IHG, Hyatt, Accor Co-Brands
As of early 2026, no major UAE bank issues a dedicated Hilton Honors, IHG One Rewards, World of Hyatt or Accor ALL co-brand credit card. Those programmes' members earn on their own hotel stays via the chain's stand-alone loyalty scheme, plus any UAE bank card with a flexible reward currency that transfers to the chain.
If you're loyal to Hilton, IHG, Hyatt or Accor, the strategy becomes bank-reward cards with good transfer or hotel-redemption options.
Tier 2: Bank-Reward Cards That Convert Well to Hotel Value
Mashreq Solitaire
Mashreq's travel portal excels in hotel redemption rates with Solitaire's reward currency. A decent redemption rate is 4 to 5 points for each AED spent on a hotel room booking via the portal. Solitaire scores well also on hotel and travel spend.
HSBC Premier World Elite
You can use your HSBC reward points to book hotel rooms through HSBC's travel portal at attractive rates. For existing HSBC Premier customers with the World Elite, the extra effort to move points into hotel value is small.
Citi Prestige
Citi ThankYou Points have international transfer partner heritage and even in the UAE the redemption value through hotel-booking partners is meaningful. Premium Citi cards also get the benefit of "fourth night free" at participating hotels, book a 4-night stay through Citi Prestige's travel desk and one night is comped, often worth USD 200 to USD 600 depending on the property.
Standard Chartered Visa Infinite X
Powerful reward earn and conversion options for hotel partners. If you travel a lot, and book 4+ international hotel stays a year, then the annual fee for the Infinite X is justified.
Tier 3: Cashback Cards as Hotel Funding
If you're a UAE resident and not bothered about chasing points, a good cashback card simply funds hotel stays at member-rate prices booked direct with the chain. The math isn't sexy, but it's consistent, 2 to 5 percent back on hotel spend converted to a statement credit, with no devaluation risk.
ADCB 365 Cashback, Mashreq Cashback, FAB Cashback and the Emirates Islamic Cashback Plus all work for this purpose. Pair a cashback card with one chain's loyalty programme (Marriott Bonvoy or Accor ALL) and you still get the cashback, plus you still earn chain points and stay credits.
How to Stack for Maximum Value
Hotel value is unusually stackable in the UAE. This is the perfect stack for a loyalist of Marriott. Earn elevated co-brand points and Silver/Gold status with the Marriott Bonvoy ENBD card on your payments. Make your reservation directly with Marriott (not through a third-party site) to earn stay credits toward Platinum and protect your Bonvoy points. Utilize the annual free night certificate at a Category 5 property (currently in the 30,000 to 40,000 point range) for a one-night staycation worth AED 800 to AED 1,500. Layer ENTERTAINER or U by Emaar dining buy-one-get-one offers on hotel restaurants. Book at Marriott Bonvoy member rates and add any Stars credits or weekend offers you find in the Marriott app.
If you're not sticking with Marriott, the equivalent stack is to use a Mashreq Solitaire or HSBC Premier card to earn better rewards, book direct with the chain to retain your programme status, and time your stays to the chain's promotional periods (Accor's flash sales, IHG's Accelerate quarterly offers).
The wrong move is booking a UAE staycation through a third-party site at a price that strips both hotel chain credit and credit card hotel-spend bonus earn. The right move is to place the right card in front of the right booking channel, and let the points compound.
